In 1983, I commenced basic orthopaedic training as a Senior House Officer at Coventry and Warwickshire Hospital in England under Mr Aldridge, Mr Blakemore, Mr Clegg, Mr James, and Mr Williams. My senior registrar was Mr Derek McMinn, known for developing the Birmingham Hip Resurfacing technique, alongside another senior registrar, GS Chana. 1984, I joined King George Hospital in Ilford, Essex, to further my training under knee surgeon Mr John Ireland. After a short period in Dover, Kent, focusing on vascular and urological surgery with Mr Griffiths, Mr Derry, and Mr Glynn Thomas, I returned to King George Hospital as a Registrar in Orthopedics for two years. During this time, I gained substantial experience in total knee and hip replacements as well as arthroscopic surgery. After passing the Primary FRCS exam in 1983 and the final fellowship in 1985 at the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow, I received my FRCS diploma from the Glasgow Royal College in 1987.

I completed my final year of training in the UK at Bedford General Hospital, working under Mr TBH Riley, Mr R Rawlins, and Mr AS Baker before returning to India in 1990.

I joined Tamilnad Hospital (now Global Hospital) in Chennai as the first Consultant Orthopedic Surgeon, playing a crucial role in establishing the orthopaedic department of this new corporate hospital. I also served as the Chairman of the Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committee. In 1994, I moved to Sundaram Medical Foundation Hospital, a newly established community hospital in Anna Nagar, Chennai, as the Head of the Orthopedic Department and Chairman of the Operation Theatres Committee. I later joined Apollo Speciality Hospital in Chennai as a Senior Orthopedic Consultant, specializing in joint replacement and spine surgery.
